The Police Reform and Social Responsibility Act 2011 states that Police and Crime Commissioners (PCCs) may claim expenses incurred by them in carrying out the PCC role.
Expenses claims are made in line with the PCC Travel and Subsistence Expenditure Scheme (PDF, 252.3 KB). The Scheme must comply with guidance issued by the Home Office.
Following a review of the Scheme in late 2013, it was revised to enhance clarity around what may be claimed (Decision notice – 2014-1 - Travel And Subsistence Expenditure Scheme (PDF, 3.1 MB). All claims submitted from October 2013 onwards adhere to that revised scheme.
