PCC Stephen Bett says those disclosing sexual offences ‘will and should be’ believed
Stephen said: “I want to make clear after today’s media coverage that as far as I am concerned, as the Victims’ Champion for Norfolk, those coming forward to disclose or report sexual offences will and should expect to be, believed and properly supported. Please be reassured that I will continue to ensure that this is the case.
“Recent inspections of Norfolk Constabulary have shown reports of sexual and domestic abuse offences are taken seriously and recorded appropriately and I am aware that work continues to improve the force’s overall response to dealing with these abhorrent crimes.
“I would encourage anyone who is suffering from any kind of crime to come forward and report it – you will get help and support.”
