Norfolk Police and Crime Commissioner Stephen Bett has said he is proud of all those who work for Norfolk Constabulary following its outstanding Police Effectiveness, Efficiency and Legitimacy (PEEL) report.
Stephen said: “Not for the first time in recent months I find myself praising all those who work for Norfolk Constabulary and all those who have worked so hard to earn another outstanding report from Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary (HMIC).
“The inspectors say they are ‘extremely impressed’ by Norfolk Constabulary’s commitment to neighbourhood policing, which is at the heart of its outstanding approach to preventing offending and reducing crime. They say the force has an outstanding approach to preventing offending, has one of the highest detection rates in England and has a very strong focus on victim care. This can leave no-one in any doubt that our force is performing at a very high level indeed.
“I also welcome the inspectors’ conclusions that the force has performed exceptionally well in reducing costs while maintaining the service to the public; crucial during tough financial times.
“I would like to thank everyone in the Norfolk Constabulary ‘police family’ – including officers, specials, PCSO’s, civilian staff – who continues to work on our behalf and keep our county one of the safest in the country. I am pleased to see these efforts recognised.”
In July the Commissioner praised Norfolk Constabulary following its outstanding Valuing the Police report from HMIC.
